Handmade by Callandra is an online art and gift shop selling handmade items sold by Artisan Callandra . Each item is either created from start to finish by Callandra or has an adorning element that makes it all her own.

Callandra’s business started after the death of her uncle. While she was out-of-town visiting family the week of the funeral, a cousin who is very artsy introduced her to the artistic medium of mosaics. That week while with her extended family, Callandra worked on various creative mosaic projects. She created coasters, vases, picture frames, and decorative plates.

It was from this moment that Callandra decided to take her new creative pursuit and turn it into a business. Today, her items still include coasters but her product line has expanded to include paintings and some wall art.

Callandra loves creating something from nothing and would love to make something for your decorating and gift-giving needs.

Art, to me, is communication that happens in two ways. The first being between God (my Creator) and myself. The second being between me and my art collectors.

As an artist, I aim to create art that emanates a sense of calmness to the senses all while uplifting the art collector with an encouraging message.

My creative process begins with a vision from God. I then take that vision in my mind and select the materials that will best achieve the look of the vision entrusted unto me. Lastly, I work to turn that vision into a tangible piece of art.

When I create a piece, my goal is never to have a piece that looks like anyone else’s. It is even ok with me that my pieces don’t fit into a particular category like ‘art’ or ‘craft’. My goal is to just turn the ideas God gave me into a tangible reality and then see who connects with each piece.

My hope is that when you purchase an art piece designed and created by Handmade By Callandra, that you experience the same peace that I gained while creating that piece.
